Introduction to the Department of Islamic Studies

The study and research of Islamic culture and tradition has been the focus of Department of Islamic Studies, which was found in 2019 at the University of Loralai's main campus under the inspiring direction of Vice Chancellor Eng. Prof. Dr. Maqsood Ahmad. Initially headed by Mufti Hayatullah in 2019, the department has been fostering its academic endeavors since 2021 under Dr. Khalil-Ur-Rehman and since July 2024, under Mr. Hidayat Ullah

To flourish under the guidance of the Qur'an and Sunnah as a society that is informed, accepting, rich, and sophisticated.

Mission

The goal of the Department of Islamic Studies is to help students comprehend the significance of religion in human existence. It usually provides education of the highest caliber ingrained in Islamic principles and values. Building students' analytical-hermeneutic abilities to study Islamic heritage and classics in order to meet today's challenges

Objectives

The BS in Islamic Studies program's general educational goals are as follows: To produce skilled and targeted Islamic Studies professionals to satisfy the demands of educational institutions in the future. To provide in-depth understanding of the challenges and changes facing the world. To provide an understanding of Islam in order to close the gap between Islam and other religions. To establish an atmosphere that fosters learning via high-quality instruction and research while fostering tolerance, sensitivity, and respect for one another.

Chairperson’s Message

By providing high-quality instruction and research through knowledgeable and experienced faculty members, the Department of Islamic Studies aims to become recognized as a Center of Excellence in Pakistan, concentrating on imparting knowledge based on research from the Holy Quran and Hadith while also being acutely aware of the modern world and contemporary challenges to the Muslim world.

The programs of Department of Islamic Studies are distinct in that they go beyond these fundamental building blocks to include critical thinking infused with the qualities of a true Muslim character, in addition to offering the research foundation and substantive knowledge in Islamic Studies.
