UoL Participates in 7th National Olive Gala
The University of Loralai participated with distinction in the 7th Grand National Olive Gala 2025, held from 12 to 14 December 2025 at F-9 Park, Islamabad. Organized by the Ministry of National Food Security & Research (MNFSR), Government of Pakistan, this premier national event adopted the theme: āPromotion of Olive Cultivation on Commercial Scale in Pakistan ā Phase II.ā
The gala was inaugurated by the Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research, Mr. Rana Tanveer Hussain, convening farmers, entrepreneurs, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders from across Pakistan.
The University of Loralaiās exhibit underscored its dedication to advancing olive cultivation, processing, and value-added products through cutting-edge research, innovation, and academic programs. The stall highlighted the exemplary contributions of Dr. Shafiq Ur Rehman, Focal Person for the Olive Project, with essential support from Assistant Professor Dr. Tariq Khan.
The University extends profound gratitude to the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Dr. Ehsanullah Kakar, whose visionary leadership has established and fortified olive initiativesāfostering future income generation, regional development, and excellence in agricultural studies.
This landmark event enjoyed robust support from national and international partners, including the Pak Olive Project, OliveCulture II, Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), CIHEAM Bari, HHRD, PPAF, and FACE, reinforcing collaborative efforts for a sustainable agricultural future in Pakistan.
